This non-profit organization started in Seattle as a clay studio in 1966. It now has a larged clay arts center and promotes excellence in the ceramic arts. Washington Potters' Association

In 1983 by 12 individuals got together to start this association in order to promote better communication among potters throughout the state. There are now more than 250 members. Mark Hewitt Pottery

Mark lives with his wife, Carol, in Pittsboro, NC, in an old farm at the end of a dirt road which he bought in 1983. The farm has served as their home & pottery ever since. He refines three local stoneware clays into attractive, durable clay body. He makes a a full line of tableware for domestic use, and a range of planters for the garden, specializing in very large pots, planters, jars, vases and jugs.
